Tunde Kelani to premiere ‘Dazzling Mirage’ featuring Kunle Afolayan, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Yomi Fash Lanso, others
After one year of anticipation, the latest movie from Nigeria’s iconic Tunde Kelani is set to hit the cinemas. ‘Dazzling Mirage’ will premiere on 7 November at the Muson Centre in Onikan, Lagos.
The love story is written by Ade Solanke and is an adaptation of Yinka Egbokhare’s novel of the same title. It traces the life of a sickle cell sufferer, running through betrayal and denial, but focused on helping the public understand what sickle cell really means, for the people affected by it.
“Dazzling Mirage is an inspiring story centred around a young advertising executive,” Kelani says. “This talented beautiful lady living with sickle cell disorder, Funmiwo (Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju) overcomes social stigma, prejudice and her own low self-esteem to achieve career success, marriage and motherhood. This story is very dear to my heart, and its also a love story for those of who gave our hearts to make it – we are very happy to finally be able to share it with the public.”
Shot at various locations in Nigeria, it showcases sterling performances by talented actors such as Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju, Kunle Afolayan, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Bimbo Manuel, Carol King, Yomi Fash Lanso and Seun Akindele amongst others.
The premiere of the movie is sponsored by the Lagos State Government, Still Earth Limited and Access Bank.
