Man, 62, pays N40,000 for son-in-law to be killed
Jumba, according to a statement made available to journalists by the spokesman of the Bauchi State Police Command, Haruna Muhammed, was arrested by detectives attached to Gamawa Division on Friday, October 31, 2014 at about 1.00p.m.
Muhammed, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said the man allegedly contracted four people and gave them N40,000 to kill his 28-year-old son-in-law, one Umaru Ahmadu, a resident of Matamu in Gamawa Local Council.
“On the 31/10/2014 at about 01:00hrs, police detectives attached to Gamawa Division, Bauchi State, arrested one Dotti Jumba, male and 62 years of age, from Tumbarja in Kubdia District of Gamawa Local Local of Bauchi State.
“Suspect allegedly contracted one Sani Jumba, aged 22, and Bura Manu, aged 20, all males from Kubdia District and two others now at large and gave them the sum of N40,000 to kill his son in-law, one Umaru Ahmadu male and 28 years of age from Matamu in Gamawa Local Council,” the PPRO said in the statement.
He further informed that instead of the ‘contractors’ to do what they were contracted to do, they missed their target and killed his father, one Ahmadu Wakili Guji.
Apart from Dotti Jumba, the police spokesman said there were two other suspects, 22-year-old Sani Jumba and 20-year-old Bura Manu, both from Kubdia District.
He said two others, including the intermediary, were now at large.
He added that the police were making efforts to apprehend the fleeing accomplices.
DSP Mohammed assured that the suspects would be charged to court to face the full wrath of the law as soon as the police completed investigations on the matter.
