Educationist advises Fayose to appoint technocrats as commissioners

An educationist, Dr Ajayi Bolagade, has advised the Ekiti new governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, to appoint technocrats as commissioners in order to achieve his desire to serve the people well.
Bolagade gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ikole.
He urged Fayose to shun “party patronage’’, but to involve professionals who could help his government to succeed.
“The new governor is determined to transform every sector in the state and involvement of people who are capable to do the job based on experience will fast-track positive changes.
“The technocrats have all it takes to give rational advice and use their knowledge to implement government programme for the development of the state,’’ he said.
Bolagade said that the state had many problems and that involvement of performance-driven technocrats would enhance the governor’s performance.
He urged politicians to support the new administration to check poverty level of the people and solve the enormous challenges facing the state.
The educationist also urged the state civil servants and other stakeholders to be patient and give the new administration necessary support to bring the state back on the right track.
